About the Role: We are a compassionate, family-owned funeral home serving Macomb County and the Metro Detroit area.
We are seeking a licensed Funeral Director who is dedicated to providing dignified, empathetic care to families during their time of loss. This role involves guiding families through funeral arrangements, coordinating services, and ensuring compliance with all Michigan state regulations. We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities depending on business needs and candidate availability. The position requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call rotations for first calls and transfers.
Key Responsibilities: Meet with grieving families to arrange and personalize funeral, memorial, or cremation services Coordinate all aspects of funeral services, including visitations, ceremonies, graveside services, and transportation of the deceased Complete necessary paperwork, death certificates, permits, and vital statistics documentation in accordance with Michigan law Oversee or assist with embalming, preparation, and care of the deceased. Manage logistics such as scheduling, clergy coordination, pallbearers, flowers, music, and military honors Provide emotional support and counsel to families while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality Ensure the funeral home facilities are presentable and services run smoothly Maintain accurate records and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations (including OSHA, FTC Funeral Rule, and Michigan Mortuary Science Board requirements) Assist with removals/transfers as needed Participate in community outreach and pre-planning consultations Additional duties as assigned by the funeral home manager or owner.
Qualifications & Requirements: Active Michigan Funeral Director License. Valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record Minimum 1–2 years of experience in funeral service preferred (entry-level or apprentice candidates with license may be considered) Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Professional appearance and adherence to conservative dress standards (dark suits or business attire) Proficiency with Microsoft Office and funeral home management software is a plus.

We are a family owned and operated, multi-location funeral firm in Michigan serving the communities in mid-Michigan and the surrounding areas, and we are seeking a conscientious licensed full or part time funeral director proficient in all aspects of funeral service.
This position interacts directly with families during their time of need and is responsible for creating and maintaining a premier level of client family satisfaction with a personal touch. Salary or Hourly wage commensurate with experience.
The Funeral Director and Mortuary Science Licensee duties include but not limited to:
- Skillfully and compassionately taking death call information and coordinating transportation accordingly
- MUST prioritize tasks and MUST manage time efficiently
- MUST be a team player and work well with others
- MUST take direction and follow through
- Oversee, direct, and coordinate all aspects of funeral services including, visitation, services, burials, and cremations
- Caring of deceased including embalming, restoring, dressing, cosmetology, casketing, transporting and possible other requests

- Contacting service personnel and outside vendors to coordinate merchandise and arrange facilities within a timely manner

- Supporting and assisting co-workers to ensure the highest quality, most professional, most ethical service
- Daily internal communication via text, phone and email
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and other internal technology
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must have the State of Michigan funeral licensure or the ability to reciprocate license from another state
- Ability to manage a caseload while creating an exceptional customer experience
- Excellent driving skills and record
- Proficient in embalming and cosmetics
- Be passionate about and committed to delivering outstanding service to the deceased and their families
- Have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Detail-oriented, follow up and be well organized
