Kemp Funeral Home is currently looking to fill two positions:

Bookkeeper/Accountant

• Responsible or timekeeping, payroll and funding the payroll bank account
• Responsible for Accounts Payable including choosing payments and generating checks for signature.
• Posting payments to Accounts Receivable
• Issuing Petty Cash
• Compiling reports requested by other managers and our CPA firm
• Prepare items to be sent to the CPA firm for tax and annual financial statements
• Other duties as assigned
• Compensation: Benefits: Health Care Plan with dental component; PTO, 401k. Pay: Negotiable.

Licensed Funeral Director

Licensed Funeral Directors are responsible to master the following

• Administrative Responsibilities
• Make Arrangements with families
• Record information for the death certificate
• Collect information / help with decision making for service planning
• Schedule service to fit into KFH service schedule
• Ascertain method of payment, collect payment or refer to accounting
• Collect necessary signatures on KFH forms
• Complete logistical plans
• Generate death certificates from the EDRS system

• Technical Responsibilities
• Embalm, dress and cosmetize the deceased:
• According to the laws of the State of Michigan
• According to the procedures established in the Prep Room and,
• According to the family’s wishes
• Maintain Prep Room organization and cleanliness
• Follow all OSHA rules
• Use all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Prepare decedents for cremation
• Direct Funeral Services
• Prepare necessary staff for the service
• Make sure all resources necessary for the service are available
• Instate Crew
• Flags
• Family Bag
• Register book
• Flowers, stands, burial permit, etc.
• Make necessary Pre-Arrangement plans and get assistance with completing Pre-Arrangement contracts
• Provide impeccable Customer Service
• Polite, courteous, helpful, open to instruction and criticism from client families

• Be available to work a flexible work schedule which may include nights and weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned

We are a family owned, multiple location funeral home business in Southeastern Michigan with locations in Livonia, Canton and Downtown Farmington. We are looking for a self-motivated Licensed Funeral Director with the following qualifications.

-Michigan Mortuary Science license in good standing

-Experience in all aspects of funeral service

-Excellent driving record

-Written and oral communication skills

-Proficient with the various computer software needs of the industry
